The
2009 Fall Conference
took place Friday, October 16 on the UW-W campus. Approximately 1,500 students
from Illinois and Wisconsin attended. Registration forms were mailed to

At the annual
KEMPA fall conference, information
from over 60 presenters is organized into three 45-minute sessions. A
lunch break between sessions two and three also functions as the annual
meeting of advisers. About 50 journalism students compete in the yearbook
on-the-spot contest, the newspaper write-off, editorial writing and cartoon-off
sessions. Conference presenters are a mix of high school journalism teachers,
publication advisers and working professional journalists.
